Choosing Books
Can all of the duet books be used in heterogeneous (mixed instrument) classes or situations?
No. The Flying Fiddle Duet series and the Beginning Fiddle Duet series are instrument-specific and cannot be played with different instruments at the same time.
However, the Fiddles on the Bandstand duets, Sailing into Bethlehem duets, Dancing into Bethlehem duets, the Advent Books, Flying into Christmas duets, Fiddles on the Mountain duets, and the Blackberry Blossom Fiddle Books can be used in mixed-string classes (the parts are interchangeable.)
Are the books listed in order of study anywhere?
Unfortunately, so far, it has not been possible to put all of the books in order. Each book was written for a specific set of students. Some books were written for younger students (for example, Early Exercises for the Cello) and other books teach the same things but were written for older students (for example, Beginning Technique for the Cello.) In addition, some books were written to address particular weaknesses, such as trouble reading notes, that only some students have.

Purchasing Books
Where can I purchase the books as PDFs?
All of the books that are currently available as PDFs are on our downloads site www.learnstrings.com along with some chamber music and books that are not available in print.
How fast do books ship?
We work to ship most orders within 1-2 business days.
If you choose USPS Media Mail, as over 90% of our customers do, be advised that your package could take up to two weeks to arrive (although they often arrive sooner.)
USPS Priority, UPS, or FedEx are available if you need books sooner. We recommend using Amazon if you need books very quickly. And if you need a book instantly, visit our PDF site www.learnstrings.com!
Do you ship outside the USA? What are the costs?
We do ship outside the USA, however we recommend either purchasing PDF books from www.learnstrings.com or checking out online bookstores in your country first. Our distributors have the books available in many online bookstores around the world.
To see shipping costs to your country, add books to your cart and enter your address for a quote. For a number of countries, including Canada, Australia, the UK, and countries in the EU, we are able to print and ship inside your country, which can cut down on shipping costs.
If your country is not listed in the dropdown box, we do not currently ship to your country.
Where can I find the books besides this website?
The books are available in sheet music stores in the US, including Sheet Music Plus, Johnson String Instrument (our favorite store to recommend because they were the first store to carry our books over 20 years ago!), and J.W.Pepper.
